Permanova’s knowledge centre for industrial lasers
In our knowledge centre we gather tips, case studies, and much more for those working in industries that use lasers, or those who are considering implementing lasers as part of their production.
Laser school
What is a laser? How does it work? The use of lasers in manufacturing has increased steadily over the last 30 years and is expected to increase further in the future. Modern lasers have become incredibly powerful, while the price per kilowatt has gone down, which paves the way for new applications. This is the first of eight sections in our laser school. We’ll look at everything you need to know about laser technology in manufacturing. We hope you enjoy our series of articles!
Lasers – the basics
Laser light consists of parallel beams of light on the same wavelength. Compared with the light from a torch, this allows the beam to be focused down to an extremely small point.
The laser blog
Permanova's laser blog provides knowledge, insights and tips on laser equipment for the metal working manufacturing industry.
